We'd like to invite you to the third-annual in-person workshop on aircraft contrail analysis, to be hosted on 17-18 September 2025 at Imperial College London.
Contrails are widely recognized as a major contributor to aviation's climate impact. However, critical gaps remain in the technology available for contrail management. This year's workshop will focus on surveying the current state of contrail management tools and on developing action plans to address technical barriers to widespread future adoption.
The workshop will begin with a day of talks followed by a second day of collaborative small-group breakout sessions and co-working. Talks will provide an overview of recent research on contrails and contrail management and highlight gaps in current capabilities. Breakout sessions on the second day will focus on developing action plans to address challenges in key areas, including:
The goals of the breakout sessions are to identify priority research topics, opportunities for collaboration, and funding opportunities.
